Education Opportunities in Canada

Canada offers globally respected education through its Study Permit program, managed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Students admitted to a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) and, in some cases, holding a Provincial or Territorial Attestation Letter (PAL/TAL) can apply for this permit. Applicants must present a valid Letter of Acceptance, sufficient financial proof (minimum CAD $20,635 plus tuition and travel), and supporting documents like biometrics, medical, or police certificates where applicable. The process involves admission, attestation, and online application before the Port of Entry (POE) issuance. With this permit, students may also work up to 24 hours weekly off-campus and later transition to PGWP or skilled immigration pathways.

Education Visa In Canada

Canada’s education visa opens doors to quality learning, global exposure, and long-term professional
growth opportunities.

Canada Study Permit

The Canada Study Permit, issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), allows international students to study at Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs) across Canada. It is distinct from a visa or eTA, which may be required separately for entry. Applicants must secure a Letter of Acceptance and, where applicable, a Provincial or Territorial Attestation Letter (PAL/TAL). These letters confirm eligibility under Canada’s national admission cap and are essential for smooth processing before travelling for academic enrolment.

To qualify for a study permit, students must demonstrate sufficient financial proof, showing at least CAD $20,635, plus first-year tuition and travel funds, as per IRCC’s 2024 requirements. Applicants must also submit essential documents, including a valid passport, a letter of acceptance, biometrics, and, where necessary, medical or police certificates. For Québec, a CAQ must meet specific wording for CAP compliance. Once approved, applicants receive a Port of Entry (POE) Letter, granting permission to enter and study in Canada.

After arrival, international students are permitted to work up to 24 hours per week off-campus during academic sessions, according to the November 2024 update, with separate rules for on-campus employment. The study permit fee is CAN$150, excluding biometrics and medical costs. Upon completing their studies, students may qualify for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), which allows them to gain Canadian work experience, a valuable step toward obtaining permanent residency through programs such as Express Entry or Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP).
